With their fast rise on the EDM Scene, it's hardly a surprise that Chad Cisneros and Dave Reed of Tritonal have earned their spot as Spinning Decks #1 DJ for 2012. There is little territory that has been untouched by these Texas natives, and over the last year they have made it clear that they belong in the upper echelon of American DJs and that they wont be going anywhere but up.
Their first real breakthrough into the Trance scene occurred in 2009 with the official release of Tritonal's Air Up There remix of Ferry Corsten's hit single "We Belong." Only a year after they began releasing music this track propelled them forward on the dance music scene, pushing them towards a 2010 that would include several releases as well as the founding of their own record label, Air Up There Recordings. This momentum would only snowball into 2011, with the release of Piercing The Quiet, Tritonal's artist album. Collaborating with the likes of Jeza, Jenry R., Bethany, Meridith Call, Fisher, and the amazing Christina Soto, Piercing the Quiet delivered one of the most intense, uplifting, and Trance-tastic sounds of the recent few years.
In 2012, Spinning Decks has had the pleasure of seeing Tritonal on three occasions. First at EDC Las Vegas, at one of the most incredible shows we've been to. On the third day, Tritonal performed for a little over an hour to the crowd of dedicated fans pictured above (you can find the set here). Later this summer we were fortunate enough to procure tickets for Governor's Island in NYC to see Dash Berlin and Tritonal with Zack Roth playing a great opening set. This was an especially important event for us as Tritonal dropped a very old, very loved song: Secret (Andrew Bayer Remix) - Above and Beyond. Our final Tritonal treat was on Thanksgiving Day, when we saw Tritonal, Super8 and Tab, and Paul Van Dyk at Pacha NYC for a true Trancegiving.
We have heard Tritonal throw down every genre from Trance, to House, to Dubstep, and there is no question about how well these two mix or how much they love what they are doing. When we saw them drop new tracks (one at EDC and one on Governor's Island) the enthusiasm they deliver is incredible! Moving in time to the beats of these brand new tracks it was evident that these two would rather be doing nothing else.
So if you love Tritonal, have heard of them, or are simply a lover of Trance, go give these guys a listen. You can find them on SoundCloud, Facebook or Twitter, as well as their official Tritonal website. We are confident that you wont regret adding Tritonal to your playlists and we know that the next year is only going to bring Tritonal onto a bigger stage with their uplifting productions and their enthusiastic stage presence.
It's 2013! Tritonians Unite!

Music Mondays!
If you haven't heard of Will Holland and his Enhanced Sessions Radio Show then you've been missing out. One Monday morning a month at 10:00am EST Will Holland represents the best new releases on his Enhanced Progressive label. Today's 169th episode featured a special guest takeover from Estiva, one of Trance's favorite persevering DJs. With countless old collaborations and the new Smiley Smilesworth, Estiva's sound is unique and uplifting, and it reminds me of the Tri-State and Imagine era of Trance. Needless to say, this mix is phenomenal, and available for free by subscribing to Enhanced Sessions Radio Podcast on iTunes! Go check it out!

This weekend marked the end of one great era and the begging of another for one of the most popular and talented DJ groups, Above and Beyond. Jano, Paavo, and Tony have been at the forefront of Trance music for as long as I can remember, and they have been broadcasting their infamous radio show Trance Around The World since January 2004. Thus, the huge shock on November 2, 2012 when, at the end of the podcast, Tony announced that the following week's TATW 450 in Bangalore, India, would be "the last Trance Around The World ever. Bye for now."
Although this shocked and outraged many loyal trance fans, AnB announce days later the start of their new radio show, Above and Beyond's Group Therapy. Incorporating the elements of their latest tours into their entire being, Above and Beyond will soon be giving Group Therapy to their loyal fans every Friday.
Though this announcement has upset many loyal TATW fans, there is no doubt that this will be an epic start of a new chapter in Above and Beyond's history. Beginning ABGT 001 with their incredible set in Bangalore, the Trio of Trance is ready to embark on a new journey, bringing us all along for a little bit of desperately needed Group Therapy.
We love you guys!

Trap Thursdays
Starting today, Spinning Decks presents Trap Thursdays, one day per week where we bring you nothing but Trap Music.
Trap music has its roots in southern hip-hop culture, beginning in the late 1990s in Houston, Texas with DJ Screw's "chopped and screwed" technique and his Screwed Up Crew, big fans of slow music and the sophisticated 'Purple Drank.' The success of their music continued with other Southern hip-hop groups including Three 6 Mafia, Cash Money Records, and Crunk Music. With T.I.'s album Trap Muzik and Gucci Mane's Trapholics mix tapes, Trap was ripe and ready for introduction into the Electronic Music world.
Today, we can see Flosstradamus, Baauer, CRNKN, Tigorilla, LOUDPVCK, and personal friends gLAdiator, emulating this same "chopped and screwed" technique, throwing their own twists and turns into the music, and making this relatively new sound into a true genre of EDM. We salute these and similar artists in their love and dedication to new music!
We have a Trap and Bass mix from Thurstin' for you to enjoy. Here's the link to our SoundCloud and the Set List for "I Just Trapped."

First Post
Welcome to Spinning Decks, a brand new group based in upstate New York, USA dedicated to supporting local DJs and DJs from Skidmore College. Within the week, we will begin posting sets from the DJs we currently support, biographies of each, and giving out dates for upcoming shows in the greater Saratoga Springs, New York. Support is key for any group just starting up, so if you like us, like EDM in general, or just want to show your support for an independent group, "Like" us on Facebook, "Follow" us on Twitter for updates as they happen, and visit our SoundCloud page to check out the new music going on all the time. (All of these are linked on our sidebar.) If you have any questions, comments, interest in booking the DJs we support, want to talk about Electronic Music, or have any other interest in our cause, please e-mail us at SpinningDecksOfficial@gmail.com.
Here's a preview of our original design for our Facebook and other websites, as well as our first set of posters and stickers. It will soon be much more finished, colored in, and printed out on stickers, posters, lighters, t-shirts, and whatever else we can find to print them on. Once the final image is out, if you want to order any of our products (and we will have a comprehensive list set up at that time) send us an e-mail with your order and address.
Our first show is being planned for September 22, 2012 in Saratoga Springs, New York. Keep in touch for updates and a location for the show.
